FDA warns the public to stop using two Covid-19 test kits over the risk of false results

The FDA is warning the public to stop using two fast Covid-19 testing kits for high potential risks from inaccurate results. The agency said the test was not authorized, but was distributed to a pharmacy and sold directly to consumers in the US. The wrong results can make someone think they have Covid-19 when they are not infected or can produce negative results on infected individuals.

This advisor involves two fast testing kits: Fast test kit antibodies SARS-COV-2 LECCURATE (Gold Colloid Immunochromatography) and LAP SARS-COV-2 medical technology Fast Test Kit. The FDA said that he had a ‘serious concern’ about how well the two unauthorized test kits appeared when it comes to testing results, noting that he has a reason to believe that they have a high opportunity to produce wrong results.
